Learning And Reciting The Noble Qur'an

It is Fardh Al-Ayn (compulsory for each Muslim individually) to memorize enough Surahs and Ayat (verses) from the Holy Qur’an to make one’s Salah acceptable. It is Wâjib (required) to memorize Surah Al-Fatiha and another Surah so that Fardh is fulfilled. It is Fardh Al-Kifayah (collective obligation) to memorize other parts of the Noble Qur’an.
Excluding the case in Salah, Reading the Qur’an Mubin by looking at it is more virtuous than reading it by heart. Because the former includes two ibadah (deeds): Looking at the book of Allah and reciting it. It is mustahab (recommended) to recite the Holy Qur’an after taking Wudhu (ablution), putting on clean clothes and facing the qiblah. Before starting to recite the Qur’an, one should recite it by reading taawwuz (a’udhu billahi minash-shaytan-irrajim) and tasmiyah (bismillahir-rahmanir-rahim) and adhering to the rules of recitation (Tajwid).
On the other hand. It is a sin to forget how to read the Qur’an Mubin after having learnt it.
Aside from reciting the Holy Qur’an, teaching others how to recite it is also a great ibadah. The Noble Prophet (Sallalahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said: “The best of you are those who learn the Quran and then teach it to the others.”
“Muslims who recite the Qur’an beautifully are the most arif (wise and knowing) of the dwellers of Jannah.”
“Indeed, this Holy Qur’an is the feast of Allah Ta’ala. Attend to it and take it as much as you can.”
“Allah Ta’ala wants to send torment to the people in the world. However, He hears that they are teaching wisdom to their children, then He withdraws that torment.” In this last Hadith Sharif, what is meant with the wisdom is the Noble Qur’an.
Abul Faruq Sulayman Hilmi Tunahan (Quddisa Sirruhu) said: “The right of the Holy Qur’an upon each Muslim is to recite two hundred ayat (verses) from it daily. If a Muslim reads fifty Ikhlas Al-Sharif daily, he will have fulfilled this right; and whoever regularly recites it will have no problem or misfortune in this world. He will have abundant of rizq (sustenance/provision) too.”
