From The Last Sermon Of Rasûlullâh (SAW)
‘’O people! Lend me an attentive ear. I do not know, whether after this year, I shall be amongs you.
O people, just as you regard this month, this day and this city sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust.
My Sahaba! You will meet your Rabb (Lord) that day and you will reckon your actions. Do not ever revert to old falsehood and cut each other’s necks. Let those who are here inform those who are not here!
Perhaps those to whom are narrated can understand and preserve it better than those who hear.
O, My Sahaba (companions)! Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. O People! Beware of the rights of your women and fear Allah. It is true that you have certain rights concerning your women but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah’s trust and with His permission.
O Mumins (believers)! I leave behind two things for you, as long as you hold fast on them you will not go astray: The Book of Allah and my Sunnah. A Muslim is a fellow brother to the other, and thus all Muslims are brothers.
Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim, which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly.
O people! Tomorrow they will ask you about me, what will you say? ‘’ Sahaba Kiram (Noble Companion) replied, ‘’We will witness that you conveyed the message of Allah, you have fulfilled your duty, you adviced us. ‘’Rasûlullâh (Sallallâhu Alayhi Wa Sallam) pointed at the sky with his right index finger and then turned towards the congregation and repeated thrice: ‘’ Be witness, O my Rabb (Lord)! Be witness O my Rabb! Be witness O my Rabb’’.
O people! After Hamd (thanks), Thana (praises) and Takbir (glorification), I say: Listen to the words of your Prophet attentively who connects you to the Book of Allah and obey Allah!”
