A Person Is Together With Whom He Loves

Rasûlullâh Sallallâhu Alayhi Wa Sallam said: “A person is together with whom he loves.” When a person’s heart inclines to someone, so does his mind and thoughts. Then, he tries to imitate the attitudes, state, and behaviours of the person he loves. Thus, they are both in a similar situation.

While forming an opinion about people, firstly, one should consider whom he loves or inclines. Those who love the virtuous and the righteous Mumins, undoubtedly are with them. On the other hand, those who love people with corrupt Aqeedah, Bid’ah and the immoral, will be resurrected with them eventually on the Day of Judgment.

Rasûlullah Sallallâhu Alayhi wa Sallam said: “If my love is instilled in a servant’s heart, surely Allah Ta’ala forbids fire on his body (will not punish him).” (Munâwî, Faydh al-Qadîr)
